Dragonfly Hovering Over Lilypad

Catching a dragonfly in flight can be quite difficult. I got lucky. Not only to catch it but to get the wings relatively sharp. Missouri Botanical Gardens.

You have to turn on AI by pressing on your temple for 2 seconds and you will see it.

Nice capture right at that spot over the lily pad. You got one wing sharp but not the eye, so part way there. Maybe needed to stop down a touch to get a little more DOF. Some motion blur so faster shutter speed needed, but that is going to kick iso way up, so going to need denoise. Wondering if this was a pretty deep crop.

Yes it is. The lily pad was a bit away in water.

It's weird how it works, but the cropping also eats depth of field, and impacts dynamic range.

And blows up the most minor imperfections. But that's just physics at work.
