Duck out of Water

This Mallard hen climbed to the top of this stump, which took some doing as she didn't use the sloped side. Watched her do the same thing with two other stumps in the marsh. She was clearly looking for an above water home for the season

Nice warm light and matching colours between duck and surroundings. The males may be more spectacular but the hens subtle plumage is quite beautiful in my opinion.
