A few weeks ago, DXO released its August update for PhotoLab 6 and DXO PureRaw 3. It included the lens module for the Nikon 400mm 4.5 (including modules for the 1.4x and 2.0x on that lens). These are some quick shots in my backyard this morning with the 2.0 TX attached. I was blown away by the improvement. In fact, having owned the 800PF for a few months earlier this year, IMO the results are comparable. However, at a significant light penalty. The 800 at f6.3 and the 400 4.5 + 2.0 TC at f9. All 5 shots were exported to DXO PhotoLab6 or Pure Raw 3. The only processing in those programs were to apply the lens module. Exported back to Lightroom with no further sharpening. IMO opinion the use of the 2.0 went from 'useable' to 'very good'.
