I had no idea! I used to hunt PA. I've been gone from the East for too many years.
Awesome looking bull and a great capture. Wish I would have seen this before I posted my elk photos, whose subjects look quite tiny in comparison, I would have waited awhile before posting.

Wow, with the hunting seasons I'm surprised he survived long enough to get that size, most of the big guys don't. Back before the hunting season was instituted there were a number of bulls like that -- no longer. I was out there yesterday morning and saw but one animal, a small bull east of Driftwood (he's in this post: https://bcgforums.com/threads/bull-elk.39309/). It was so foggy up high that I could barely see 100 yards; I had to leave before noon so the evening was out. If that was taken from where I think it was, he couldn't have been seen in the morning - lost in the fog.
