Shots from earlier this week. Bulls are ready, cows not willing just yet. First two at about 11,000 feet, third is at Sprague Lake at 8,688 Feet.

Nice set. The bull in that first shot is going to be a busy boy keeping track of all those ladies.

the bull elk in the 2nd image looks much larger than the cows. Massive, really. Very nice set

Thank you Dan. Thank you Rich. Two separate groups. The first is at dawn at the top of a ridge and there were at least 20 cows for him to tend to. The second is at sunset in the valley below the ridge. I'm not a good judge of distance but I'd say I was 1,500 feet away and 150 higher in elevation with a 500PF + 1.4 Teleconverter. The second image above is as shot, not cropped. This is a panorama stitched together from a number of panels in which he doesn't look as massive but then perhaps the cows don't either and he's standing at an angle. I counted 17 + cows. He never stopped moving, giving each one his attention and chasing those that wandered off, like the gals on the right, back into the fold. A couple of memorable sights.
