Equipment Insurance Recommendations

If you would like to post, you'll need to register. Note that if you have a BCG store account, you'll need a new, separate account here (we keep the two sites separate for security purposes).

I am wanting to get insurance for all of my camera equipment. I don't need any liability, just want to cover my cameras and lenses. I also do not want to do a rider on my home owners because I was told that will affect your home policy if you make a claim on the camera equipment.

Check with your carrier…I have a separate high value items policy from homeowners with USAA that covers computers, camera gear, and her jewelry although the camera gear is most of the cost. Requires serial and model numbers but covers everything.

Our policy is with Philadelphia Insurance through Hill and Usher. Pretty much will cover anything that you choose. Our policy is a replacement policy, so if my wife’s D4 is a total loss it will pretty much pay for a Z9. Deductible is 10% of total loss. Our tripods and gimbal heads are covered. You determined what you want covered and set the insured amount. With the way insurance is going, especially here in Florida I wouldn’t want to make a claim if I absolutely didn’t have to.
