When using an extension tube with a mirrorless body and an FTZ adapter, which would be the preferred method? F mount extension tube on the FTZ or Z mount extension tube on the body?

I don't think it would matter. Seems like the Z tubes come in shorter lengths, so you could get more magnification from the F tubes that are available.

I’ve used Viltrox Z mount extension tubes with FTZ adapter attached to the tube. That worked fine. You could probably also use F mount tubes attached to the FTZ.
