The Holy Hill Basilica and National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians (https://www.holyhill.com) sits on a glacial kame, an irregularly shaped hill or mound composed of sand, gravel and till that accumulates in a depression from a retreating glacier. Kames are often associated with kettles (depressionss left from the glaciers). Given its elevation above the surrounding area, Holy Hill is a popular place for fall color photography with the rolling terrain providing many, many opportunities to view and absorb the color show. We went for a ride on Sunday and here are a few of the photos captured. The Basilica is in Shot 1, taken from a nearby road.
