Breeding Plumage…
A muddy-footed male Bar-tailed Godwit in fancy dress is clearly a bird ready to leave Queensland shores and head for the far north of the Pacific Ocean: breeding time approaches!
Somehow, I botched this shoot: the first time I've taken photos in JPEG on a mirrorless camera. I've no idea how the setting was changed.
Bar-tailed Godwit in Flight …
A female Bar-tailed Godwit takes flight.
In my opinion there are far too few photos of this species that explain how it gains its common name! Most of all, I like seeing the wonderful structure and shape of godwits' wings.
