We were in the Sonoran Desert in March of 2017. This was the first time my wife and I had been to Arizona much less a desert. This magnificent hawk was on a dead limb near a visitor’s center and I caught a shot just prior to “lift-off”. I saw “Chappy’s” post about the 600PF that included three super images he captured of a Ferruginous Hawk in Texas. I remembered this shot from back in 2017 with older, dated equipment; D750 & 80-400mm lens. And a Great Horned Owl showed up later… refused to pose properly.
