Filters for 24-70mm

Just got a 24-70mm AF-S 2.8 VR lens and noticed that the lens cap shows that it is 82mm. Want to get some ND filters. Assuming that the thread on type need to be 82mm ,correct? Is it more expensive to go with a non screw type. (drop in type) If so, what is brand is recommended? tks

X2 for Breakthrough. Yes, it takes a 82mm screw in.

I assume that is a “times 2” for Breakthrough . Their X2 line uses Japanese glass vs the X4 lines German glass. Both great filter lines.

Yes, forgot they had the older line. I only get the X4 stuff.
