In early summer, the dry deciduous forests of central India come alive with the orange blooms of Butea monosperma. Colloquially called the flame of the forest, this tree tends to grow gregariously. When all the trees in a locality flower together, it is a lovely sight.

The flowers are fleshy and attract Langurs, birds, and pollinators.
