I had an opportunity to do some “doors off”, aerial photography over the Makgadikgadi Pans in Botswana last January. Rain was infrequent during last rainy season, but I was fortunate that it rained just prior to my arrival, there was some water in the pans and the migration of zebra, wildebeest and flamingos was underway. This image of flying flamingos was captured from a helicopter in the vicinity of Kubu Island.
