Focusing Problems on Water - Sequel

I started to use the recommendations given by some forists:

I switched AF lock on from OFF to 3
I reduced the AF area from d21 to d9. This made tracking more difficult 🙁
I reduced the FL from 600mm to 450mm. This made tracking easier 🙂
I started practising tracking without shooting 😑. Not always...

AF looks better.
As for tracking, this will require lots of practice.

Anyway:

THANKS A LOT TO EVERYBODY

Sounds like you're on the right track. Remember to at least try Group AF. I really like it for BIF on my: D5, D500 and D850 but can't vouch for its performance on a D810.

As for tracking, this will require lots of practice.
It does require a lot of practice but that difficulty is part of what makes good image results so satisfying :)

Next time I'll give a try to "group". Until now it was not satisfactory but maybe something fell also in place there now.
As soon as it stops raining and I have good light
