The Valley of Fire takes its name from the striking red colors of the rock formations of this area. These were originally sand dunes that became fossilized when dinosaurs still roamed the earth around 150 million years ago.

Nicely done. Like the third as well. The moon, the light ridge, and the darker foreground accentuate the vastness. Thanks for sharing a location I wasn’t familiar with and a bit of the history.

Thanks Malcolm, truly appreciate the feedback. Valley of Fire is a place I will return to…as you can imagine it changes moment by moment.

I haven’t been in that area since the early 70’s when I was about 12 or 13. Want to get back there and Bryce Canyon in Southern Utah. Love the captures you got as well as the history.
Then I don’t have the tell you how magically beautiful it is….and I think your “older” self needs to see it again. I look forward to your shots!
