French Creek Harbour is a working commercial fishing harbour and processing plant on Vancouver Island. Its about a five minute drive from our home there and I love getting up early to photograph pre-dawn and sunrise there. Every time I go, the scene and atmosphere changes, even day to day. I find commercial trawlers way more interesting to shoot than big boys toys, although it does accommodate a few sport fishing and sailboats. Here are three examples, completely different results. The second one is a multishot pano cropped to 65x24, with minor content aware fill to complete the corners lost in the stitch.
Preference? I know the one I prefer.
If you head north on Vancouver Island on your way to, say, Tofino, pick up the fresh sockeye sides or halibut fillets at the fish shop. Fantastic.
