Images from Rhino and Lion NR. Old jpegs that escaped from the HD while I was looking for some jaguar images.
Shot through glass in a dark environment. These are thick snakes, 90-120 cm! Apparently male and female, but this was 2009 and the grey matter is not the same now as then.

I Googled this snake and learned a few neat facts:
Largest member of its genus.
Longest fangs of any venomous snake (up to 5cm).
Highest venom yield of any snake.

I would steer well clear of this bad boy. :)

Thanks Koos, Yes, they are awesome snakes and found long the north coast of Natal. Beautiful critters!
