Shot this a few weeks ago on a foggy evening at Rialto Beach, Olympic NP in Washington. Such a surreal scene. Nikon D850 and 28-70 2.8

Thanks, it was shot in color and converted to B/W, but honestly there wasn't a whole lot of color in the scene to begin with!

Great image. What metering mode did you use? I shoot with the same equipment and am not always as successful in such high contrast scenes. You nailed it.

Thanks! I had spent a couple hours out on the beach in pretty much the same conditions so I was just manually experimenting with the exposure until I got it dialed in. I also had a 6 stop ND on for the water, and just kept taking images until I got no people, the fog, and the right shape of the water to all line up. Probably had about 70 images trying to get the right combination
