I have an old Gitzo 1325 which does not have the anti-twist legs. It is still sold as a rock, but the legs are getting more and more difficult to manipulate. I was thinking I would buy the inner leg workings, take it apart and rebuild it. Problem is I am having trouble finding parts and instructions. I have looked online, but parts suppliers, including Gitzo itself make it extremely difficult to determine if they are the right ones for my tripod. Any advice here would be appreciated.

Hi Ron.

Which section of the legs are getting hard to pull ? I have repaired & serviced quite a few 1325, from top to bottom, the parts numbers are:
D1325.26 (the biggest legs)
D1325.27 (the mid section legs)
D1325.28 (the thinnest section).

Thanks. They are all pretty stiff. The legs themselves seem fine. After all these years they probably just need a good cleaning and some fresh bushings, shims and whatever else they have in there.

That would be

Bushing Set for locking rings. I would get the whole sets:
D001.JS3

Also Guide bush set

D001.JG3

You need to specify it's for the 1325 model when you place the order, there is a part change over the years.

What great timing! I have the same Gitzo 1325 tripod that needs those parts mostly for the two largest leg diameters. If I were to change them I would likely do all three.

Is there a good guide or video that tells you how to do this. ?

I think I will order a set of parts for all three leg sections.

Please let us know how it goes.
