Godox V860II and Nikon Z8.

I'm not new to flash but never used it on mirrorless until yesterday, My problem is the flash will fire and it over exposes my images and even when going minus on exposure compensation or raising the aperture it does nothing image stays the same, I've looked online and there really isn't an explanation of camera settings, Thanks.

Make sure your flash is compatible with the Z cameras. When I traded my D850 for the Z8 the flashes that worked with the D cameras would only work manually on the Z. No TTL.

I'm pretty sure the Godox V860II is compatible but I'll check again.
If your Godox is functionally the same as Nikon's: SB-5000, SB-500, SB-400 or SB-300 the operating mode including TTL operation is set in the Z8's menu. If it's compatible but behaves like other Nikon flashes the operating mode has to be set on the flash unit itself.

Discussion of this and the relevant menu items here: https://onlinemanual.nikonimglib.com/z8/en/
