Spotted this gecko (Phelsuma laticauda) on the Big Island by Akaka Falls this past August. It was looking to the side but then looked straight at me for a few seconds before it ran away.
I grew up on Oahu and never saw these guys in the 80s or 90s but they're all over the islands now. One of the many, many non-natie species in Hawaii. But really pretty!
