I finally got a close up of a golden eagle today. Driving to town for groceries, it was feeding on a dead mule deer right along the highway. Not quite as romantic as hiking all day for the shot but effective. These guys are usually soaring the ridges way above the house.

We have them within less than an hours drive from me in the Highlands of Scotland but I've never seen one. Utterly majestic birds tho.
