Good computer mouse for editing

I never thought about a good accurate mouse for editing . There's a million of rollerball style mouse out there but they all get bad reviews. Anybody have any suggestions better not ridiculously expensive but good.

I appreciate the comments about a tablet but my laptop is more than capable of running the programs and I can't justify another expenditure. I just don't have a hand mouse at all and I want one that will be accurate. My laptop screen is 17.3 in. shows over 100% sRGB. 32 GB of RAM. i7 10th gen processor. And a stand alone Nvidia 1660ti video card. It'll definitely handle the job.

No worries, But I think the reason others as well as myself are recommending a tablet is because certain functions in Photoshop are much easier with a tablet then you could ever do with any mouse. I have the latest MacBook Pro which is more than capable of doing anything editing related but using a pen pressure sensitive tablet when using the brush in Photoshop as well as other functions make the job much easier.

That's cool. Thank you for responding. I'm going to try it this way and if it doesn't work I'll have to try a tablet.

I tried several different ones and determined for me the apple Magic Mouse is definitely the most comfortable and easy to use. It has very good battery life as well. Good luck and hopefully you find the one that’s good for you.

You get accustomed to whatever you are using and any change feels awkward for a while. I use a tablet for painting tools but any mouse is fine for selections and healing/cloning. You can zoom in all the way to pixel level and reduce the cursor to one pixel so you have pixel by pixel control even with a cheapo mouse. Check out and get familiar with the various options under cursor preferences before you decide.

I use a Logitech MX Master 3, and a Wacom tablet (Intuos Pro - small) for photo editing and am very satisfied with both devices. The Wacom tablet really excels at mask drawing, particularly when using the Quick Selection Tool in Photoshop.

I was specific about using a graphics tablet. NOT an iPad or similar.

Google Wacom Intuos to see what a graphics tablet is. Other brands and sizes are available.
