Great Gray Owl,Sax Zim yesterday. 7 different sightings. also Snowy Owl.most travelers had switched to Boreal Owl by the afternoon(had enough GGO pics

truly an explosion of GGO activity at Sax-Zim this year.the main reason for this post was letting people know,in case their looking for a place to go.(my wife and i had 7 different sightings)

sorry just going thru my pics today.minor editing.
a question about editing. the pictures i posted were either early morning(pine trees)or late afternoon(snow)so i lightened ever so slightly.
still trying to learn LR and PS,but not using either at this point.and i will correct my presentation. thanks for that info.

I'm not going till next month. Hope they're still there!
thinking it has to do with the really warm December, then sub zero temps that formed a hard crust on the snow.(as little as it is). makes it harder to get to the rodents.we did get about 3 inches yesterday.last year there was almost no snow,so hunting must have been pretty easy.

Very nice shots, some day maybe I'll get out there. If you're still into editing them you might want to try increasing the contrast a bit.

back to Sax-Zim today for the afternoon. saw another Great Gray Owl,and just as it was getting dark got some photo's of a Boreal Owl.pretty dark, not sure they are worth posting.seems that the Snowy has moved on. a high of -14 today. brrrrrr.
