Sometimes it's persistence and not only patience that pays off. I had been going to the same area in the Grand Teton National Park for several years in hopes to just seeing a Great Gray Owl and perhaps getting lucky enough to photograph it. I went to the same area over and over again because friends told me they are in that specific area. I'd go in the early morning, mid-day and towards sundown with no luck. Then one misty day around noon, of all times, the one on the left came into shooting range followed by its mate. How lucky was I! Persistence finally paid off!
