After having a lucky, chance encounter with a Great Horned owl on Friday night at a local nature preserve (posted in the critique section), I then had the opportunity to photograph a mother owl and her 3 owlets yesterday, at a park right next to the playground equipment. I was surprised they chose a tree in such a busy area, but I read that Great Horned owls are more tolerant of people than other owls. It was an overcast day here in Wisconsin, with the sun peeking out every once in awhile. Thanks for letting me share.
