In this species, the lady is the real looker! They are fairly small waders, nomadic, rare and near-threatened. The last time we saw a female was before I got my D70 in 2004. So, what a joy to encounter her foraging along the bridge at Lower Sabie, Kruger NP. She was mostly on the shady side and stayed two days and was gone. The male was on a different part of the sandbank between them. Got some images of him but you needed about 1200-1700 mm for a descent image. The last time we saw one was 2016 in Mkhuze NR.
