Nice close up. Smartphone cameras have come a long way. Where needs must etc. Be an interesting discussion comparing smartphone images with DSLR/mirrorless images.

Have the D500 and 200-500 with d7500 and 70-200 as my usual safari set up but the iPhone has been known to pop out on the odd occasion when beasties get too close to change lenses quickly or a quick video is needed. Don’t tend to use the video on the Nikon’s tbh. Smartphone snaps could be an interesting thread tbh especially with Topaz jpeg to raw adding a bit if spice to the mix.

I'd bet we would see some great smartphone shots, if for no other reason that you always have it with you! Sure my D500 takes a lot better image, but not when it's in its bag on the table!

On the other end of the scale, this was taken through the windscreen as we were rapidly reaching for reverse as she mocked charged us...
