Green Herons Have Become #1 Target

I know of two locations in the NY/LI area that I can regularly find green herons. I love to shoot these comical looking birds. I find them flying or hunting. Here are a few favorites of mine.

Were you using auto capture mode?
No and I didn't use pre-capture either. I really haven't tried either. Frankly, knowing the bird's "tells" when they're about to fly, I enjoy the challenge of capturing it the old fashioned way. that being said, I'll probably learn and try pre-capture eventually.
