One of my favorite birds to see and photograph in Costa Rica is the Green Honeycreeper. While the males and females look quite different from each other, I think they are both stunning. The female is shown in the top image and the male in the one below.

Very nice images of stunning birds! Where in Costa Rica did you get these? I'm going to the Guanacaste area late April.
I am so glad you are getting to Costa Rica. I photographed these birds in Sarapiqui but they are fairly common in other parts of Costa Rica as well. They live in humid, forested areas. Guanacaste tends to be one of the driest regions of Costa Rica so I am uncertain about their distribution there. Hope you get to see them and the Red-legged and Shining Honeycreepers as well.
