Greetings from the Chobe River!

Absolutely fabulous shot. The level of detail is unreal.
I've only been to Africa twice, but I will definitely be returning. Botswana & the Chobe are on my list of "must get back there" locations.
What company did you use? Was it Pangolin, or was it just one of their boats?

Ahah I was going to ask the same but then noticed he mentioned Pangolin in the post

Thank you all for the comments to the pic, I appreciate it!

Yes, I'm with the Pangolin guys here, it's my third time. This time of the year, back in 2022/2023 was fantastic, this year however, weather is unstable and has been darkish and raining multiple times, the draught lowered the level of the river and activity is a bit reduced, yet, I have multiple shots of new species to me.

Sorry for the late replies, will be off until Sunday PM...

Thanks again!

Well, that is some jaw extension :)

Though we saw a few Hippo groups on our Pangolin trip last September 2024 we didn't see much 'activity' from them. Everyone on the boat was 'willing them' to be more active re: yawns and other interactions. C'est la vie and such is the photographers lot when it comes to wildlife.
