This morning my wife spotted a Grey Butcherbird dragging a dead Blackbird along the path outside our lounge room window.
It proceeded to behead the Blackbird, then flew off with the head, possibly to feed one of the fledglings.
When it returned it started pulling the carcass around the garden breaking off small sections as it went.
This series shows a part of the process of dismembering the Blackbird which left a lot of feathers strewn across the lawn.
