This was one fat beaver. My wife and I were capturing some video of beavers aggravating muskrats in this pond. One of the beavers was more interested in munching on some good bark than chasing muskrats. With winter rapidly approaching, this one seems to be laying on an extra layer (or 3 or 5) of fat to hold it through.

Thank you. This is at a Federal wildlife preserve. The folks working there claim they did not "stock" beaver here, a couple kind of showed up one day and now they are almost a nuisance. Interesting creatures for sure.
