I have been aware of this. The solution, if you want to use flash but also silence camera "shutter" sounds, the solution is to go to the Setup Menu. Silent Mode: turn OFF. Camera Sounds > Shutter Sounds > turn OFF But of course, if you want to disable shutter sound so people/animals will not be distracted, they will still obviously know what you're doing when the flash keeps going off.

I think this is true for most of the Nikon mirrorless cameras. Z6/Z7 work the same.

Had the same problem when focus stacking. Nikon rep told me to read the manual and even sent a link to the page.
