I don't think I have another image like this one! AND - I took it on my very first birding trip - with my new-to-me used 500mm f4 - many, many years ago!
And early that day (probably after this photo) I was setting up the tripod+500mm f4......at a new position. Apparently I caught the skin between my thumb and fore finger in the tripod leg joint and sliced it open. I was with an experienced photo group and I was the newbie. My hand bled so much, a band aid just slid off. So all day I just wiped off the blood from the camera and lens and kept shooting! I wasn't about to slow down! LOL!
