I think I like a good open mouth feeding lunge as much as a breach. The feeding is easier to photograph as it happens a little slower. This humpback has it's mouth wide open, the baleen is clear along the sides of the upper jaw. The pink structure in the middle of the upper jaw is the upper pallette. The chin pleats are distended holding about 500 gallons of water and hopefully plenty of fish.
