I keep forgetting turning off my grip

Do I have to turn off my new grip, when I turn off my D850? I keep forgetting it .
I use my camera almost every day.

What do you mean with "Turn off the Grip"? Turn off the camera is all I do, and I agree with Steve W, there has never been an issue.

Nope - the switch on the grip is just for the controls on the grip, it's not for power of any kind. I leave mine on.

Yeah, like others have posted there's generally not a reason to use the lock switch on the grip. Once in a while I'm doing something like shooting with the camera body down on the ground and I'll lock out the grip controls so I don't accidentally press the shutter release on the grip and start blasting off frames.

I've been known to leave the camera on, often. It shuts itself off, often.
