I think I need a taller tripod?!?

In the past I’ve always had tripods that barely got eye level. Well the tripod I bought last year came in handy getting over roofs tonight.

the fence is 6’ and I’m 6’ and can stand under it 😀

Nice. I'm embarrassed to say I've been seen with my tripod on the seat of a lawn chair with me guarding against toppling.

My tall tripod is a drone! (Though I wouldn't use it in backyard scenarios such as yours, again, because of what the neighbors would think! Also, it's not so hot for astro.).

There's are tons of shots taken of this Seattle tourist location each year, but shooting from street level, you have to deal with people, traffic, utility and electric power lines, and you still won't get all of the sign's lettering in your frame. But go a couple dozen feet up, you can find a sweeter vantage: (The only downside is that the camera/lens is crap compared to my DSLRs):
