I see that Amazon has a one day sale for this lens at $400 off. I have to refrain from any more lens purchases for now- but maybe down the road.

It's a refurbished lens, non used is still 1999..
They were doing that discount on new ones, the renewed version was $10. cheaper - but they are now sold out of the new ones at that price...
