Just finished up with a week-long-plus trip to Tanzania. This is my third Africa experience and I really like the images I was able to get in the Serengeti, which included a number of shots of young animals, always my favorite shots. I have many images to review over the next week or so.

These are exactly some of the types I want to get at some point

Saw the focal setting on elephant, how far away were you?

A head on shot like yours is what I’m hoping for

Thanks, everyone.

Viper699-that elephant was heading right toward our jeep and just about touched it when he turned around it. I was shooting away, looked up from the camera, went "Yikes" and he was way too close to shoot anymore at that point. There is always a bit of luck involved in wildlife photography and I was lucky to have that elephant be so cooperative!

Thanks - wasn’t sure if it approached or you were positioned perfectly- seems both. Yah it’s always luck unfortunately, be it weather animals etc

Great image!
