The Witchita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge in SW Oklahoma is a rugged, beautiful landscape, but in the midst of winter, the emphasis would be on the rugged. In another month or two it will light up with wildflowers and cactus blossoms, but, on this day, it is a good day to photograph some abstractions on the shore of Quannah Parker Lake.

Love this! That 1st image, if you rotate it 90º counter clockwise. you get a beautiful abstract with a dragon or wold "face". I'm not saying do it, but that is what I would do with this stunning shape in nature image! 😻

I didn't see that but I did see an arrowhead or maybe a coat-of-arms if rotated like that. Since the Wichita Mountains are revered by the Kiowa, Comanche, and Apache tribes and all three have tribal headquarters in the area, the arrowhead is perhaps the most appropriate. The scene is full of tiny details and metaphors.
