I remember these from when I lived down south. I grew up in the area where the venus fly trap is native. Just took those things for granted with no idea how unique they are.
Jacks are one of my favorite mid-spring wildflowers. I think I say every wildflower is one of my favorites.... I guess really they are all my favorites. I enjoy them all.

Agreed. There is something about the sense of renewal that the spring wildflowers bring. Like welcoming back an old friend. Thanks for your comments.

Love it! One of my favorite flowers as well. Out hiking/photographing yesterday morning, walked into a small cluster, probably 15-20?
