The Lignum Vitae is the National Tree of Jamaica. The wood is extremely hard and dense. In fact the wood sinks in water. The small flowers on the tree start out as deep blue to nearly purple buds. On opening they are mostly a deep blue then fade to white over a couple of days. They are tropical so they are present as decoratives here in Saudi Arabia.
Nikon1 J3, w/ FT1 adapter, Nikkor 40mm f/2.8 DX Micro, 1/160 sec @ f/11, ISO 400. Processed in LR and PS, uncropped.
There are many artifacts in this shot. I am going back to the raw file and trying a different pathway and set of layers to get close to this point but with a cleaner file.

Gorgious! Did you use focus stacking to get such a sharpness from the foreground to the background?
Thank you fpr the nice comment. I used a 40mm f/2.8 DX Macro lens on a Nikon1 J3 body (14mp - 1" sensor) with the FT1 adapter. Shot at f/11 give the appearance of greater depth of field. Only using the sharper center part of the lens at a small aperture. All this combines to create the appearance of a larger depth of field. Better explanations available on this topic. I have purchased Steve's Focus Shift course and learning to use it now on my Z6 with the 105mm f/2.8 macro lens. It is a well done course and I hope to share the results when I get something worth sharing.
