With a new D850 paired with a 500 mm PF I was testing the minimal focusing distance, though not a Macro Lens as to speak I was surprised with the results.

Thank you DRwyoming, I’m enjoying and very happy with the 850 / 500PF combo. I’ll be in your area next month for several weeks photographing the Fall Foliage.
