Just a few of the 33 strong Kibumbu pride (as of June '18) begin to stir as the sunlit rays spread across the plains of Eastern Serengeti.
Sadly like so many large prides that reach peak numbers, the majority of the younger cubs did not survive this particularly bad dry season later that year. :cry:
Eastern Serengeti -TZ.
A lot of credit must go to the expansive Dynamic Range of the D850.

@aims007 Thanks
if any.... the only negative i see is the eyes are dark... a little dodge and burn would make this stand out

Trying to keep things as natural to what our human eye perceives, you cannot have bright eyes granted we are looking into the sun @ dusk, a mistake
a lot of wildlife photographers make is to have the eyes looking unnaturally bright, I'm happy with how they are as is.

And the Higlights of the sun rays in upper half are a little distracting

Can do nothing about the bright HL's of the sun rays/reflective clouds, to remove too much detracts from the scene IMO.

Gorgeous Shot Marc!👍👍

Lovely images, lovely lions! Love the in-the-environment look with the grasses going through faces in places. I used to spend long times to get rid of it, now I have changed my mind and live with what nature gave in most instances..
My Kruger visit got washed-out by the tropical cyclone Eloise! But we got to get to the Kalahari instead - best trip ever!

As soon as saw your name on the thread my first thought was “this is gonna be good”

Needless to say I was wrong , it is “Outstanding”

Two very very beautiful images Marc 👏 👏

I would agree with you on keeping the image as natural as possible without brightening the eyes , sometimes things are better left as they are , for me , this is one of those times

Wow! Wish it was me who was there. Both outstanding, however I like the first better. It would be blown up to at least 6 or 8’ wide and be on my wall, with a spotlight or two.
Congrats on being in the right place at the right time, with the right equipment and prepared to use it to its fullest potential.

These are beautiful images! I'm more drawn to the second one showing more of the surrounding landscape. However, I'd be darn happy to have shot either image and have it hanging on my wall. These are wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
