I went on a long weekend trip to the Big Island. The volcano had been erupting for a little over a week so my wife and I decided to go. We live on Oahu so it isn't a long trip (40 minute flight). We REALLY lucked out. We went up to see it on Friday just after dark, around 7pm. I got a lot of shots, pretty good I think, but I think I can do better. So we went back the next night - and found out the eruption had stopped just a few hours after we left the night before. Anyway, I think this is a decent shot, but I would have loved to get another chance. Still we were very fortunate it held out until we could see it. OM-1, 100-400mm.
