Kirk Lens Collar NC-300PF

Kirk are expensive, and shut themselves away inside the US. Since 2017, I've been using a Haoge LMR-N372 off amazon uk. Also fits the 70-200 f4G Nikkor. Almost always use the collar to carry the lens when shooting especially with a pair of rigs off respective slings. Actually my 80-400 G has the Kirk collar, but it was discounted in a sale some time back, by LandscapeGear (here in CT) when they abandoned importing Kirk.

I drilled and tapped the base of the collar to take a 6mm SS316 capbolt. Then drilled 2mm hole crossways through the head to take a split-ring. After adjusting etc, secured all with loktite, even through secured with a Nylock nut. is locked in with I carry the entire rig (usually gripped D850) off a sling using the PeakDesign QR clips. The 2 nuts space the bolthead ~12mm out from the rear of the collar; so the rig balances pointing the lens downwards. [EDIT: to state the obvious: a standard D-Loop bolt into the collar-foot attaches a carry sling, but unbalanced ]
crappy cellphoto refers.

The iShoot foots is shown pre-machining to blunt off the stupidly designed release "hook" . Use it with a much longer AW-plate to give a decent carry handle. This fits 70-200 f2.8E and/or 500 PF, but always with a loop of strong cord circling entire lens (!). Almost the only times I lock any of these lighter telephotos on an tripod is for AFFT

Kirk Lens Collar NC-300PF is no longer available on B&H website. Does anyone know a good alternative?

You might wnat to take a look at thes one ...
iShoot stuff is considerably cheaper than the big names but I find the provide good value for the money and the stuff works well IMO.

I use the iShoot is-RT1 for both the 70-200 f4 G VR and the 300PF and I am really happy with it. Really easy to put on and take off. The lenses rotate smoothly when loose and hold reliably when tightened. Tightening is done very quickly because it it has no ordinary screw but a kind of turning quick release - a bit like you would know it from a ballhead.
It has an Arca style foot and costed about 30€ here in Germany.
