How much are you will wanting to carry, and what focal lengths do you typically like to shoot at?

Trying to go with one body and one lens. D500 body with grip and a compact zoom for wide to slight tele. Have not figured out the best lens. I have the 24-70 but it's just too heavy and bulky.

The 16-80 was the DX mid-range zoom that was most popular with the D500-era cameras. It has a reasonably good reputation, but is slower than the 24-70 f/2.8. You could pair it with a small f/1.8 prime for some speed.

That was a Z9 with the 14-30 f4. I tend to carry that lens and the z105 around most days.

I use a Peak Deaign 20l backpack when traveling. Holds plenty plus jackets and anything we might buy.

Lovely image, I like the composition with the fountain leading the viewer into the scene.
I'm currently looking at the 14-30f4 lens for travel, and this image clearly illustrates it's suitability.

I really like it for the cityscapes and the 105 for people and open markets.

This city is not so far from my house, maybe next spring I will get a look.
