When a cold front goes over the warmer Lake Michigan waters, we can get an offshore cloud bank. When this happens in Winter, and the lake still has open water the results are closer to shore and are wonderful. If I see clouds over the treetops to the east, I can head to the waterfront to capture a few photos. Here are two shots from this past weekend.
