Better give me a holler if it does, coz I might just jump in the car and drive across. Be good to meet up. If it happens, I would most likely go into Marree and camp out the back of the hotel. They have a series of good scenic plane trips.
Sounds great to me as well. Good excuse to visit Birdsville and Big Red.

For those following this thread and maybe not aware, this area is in the middle of the desert and they actually have a yacht club there. :) Check out their website which is also a good site for tracking when the rains and flows of water are occurring.

Lake Eyre North from Level Post Bay road?

Yes, got there through Muloorina Station, seems that the track has been closed until further notice.

This is the view looking sort of east from the top of the same dune from where the first shot was taken.

Nice, this is the place where the birds flock to when it has rained? Have seen video and was green!
Yes, there's an island on which Pelicans breed. They set out for it from hundreds of kms away when the water starts to flow. It's not known how they know.
Even stranger are Banded Stilts.

A pity.
Muloorina's a good spot for birds.

@gordon_g It is a place that you will goggle at, ;) your most welcome for the photos, I hope people gain some insight into our country and its wonderful landscape.

I have lots more photos of that trip to Cape York, I prefer to show some of the unusual aspects of it, this is topic is one, https://bcgforums.com/index.php?threads/australian-landscapes.1266/ was another.
From my home to Cape York return without any extra side trips would be approximately 9,815kms, a trip pretty much around the Australian coastline in 1990 was 28,00kms in total.

Have only seen a tiny bit of QLD and north NSW, but I must say, Oz is a beaut place, with beaut people. Now that Cape York, it has a hook in my soul and I really want to go up there if a next trip the QLD materialize!

@Callie I have posted a few photos from the trip to Cape York 2018.
